Raspberry Hard Candy with Soft Center

Oh My God.. the memories of raspberry hard candy!

My grandmother always, always had these around in her home.

I loved these more than practically anything....

You savor it slowly until you get close to the soft center and than crush it to the roof of your mouth. The gooey soft center then oozes out with the most delightful burst of raspberry.

Whoever invented these was a genius!

Cinnamon Candy - Hot for the Hotties!

I absolutely love and adore anything cinnamon. I feel like cinnamon is an exotic, yet familiar and homey taste.

It is the taste of cinnamon buns, hot apple cider, coffee cake, snicker doodles, and a whole lot more.

Anything cinnamon is fine with me.

Cinnamon gum.

Cinnamon candy.

Cinnamon candy apples.

Cinnamon cookies.

Cinnamon cake.

Cinnamon tea.

Cinnamon bread.

And anything else!

I like sugar free candy the best, because it doesn't make my teeth all sugary :)

Cinnamon is refreshing and wonderful. It is invigorating, yet relaxing.

It is one of the healthiest flavors, too.

GIMME CINNAMON!!!!!

Barrels and Barrels of Root Beer Barrels!

I love root beer, and I love root beer barrels! Any way you want to give them to me it's fine :)
I love them sugar free and regular. Anything root beer is great with me!
In fact, sometimes I think I would rather have a root beer barrel than food.

I recently found something very interesting. I found root beer hoodia diet lollipops. They taste exactly like root beer barrels, but they are on a stick. I'm not complaining. Because not only do they taste delish, but they are also helping me to lose weight (which I need to do from eating all that candy all my life!)I've already lost like 18 pounds and counting!!!! Imagine losing weight and eating candy, and the weight loss is actually from eating the candy!!!!!! OMG!

Here's a link for sugar free root beer barrels.

Where oh Where is My Neuhaus Chocolate?

There used to be the most amazing chocolate in Kuwait. It has sadly seemed to go the wayside and can no longer be found anywhere except for the bars of chocolate at Sultan Center.

Neuhaus Chocolates has the quaintest shop in Tala Center in the basement where they sold flown in hand made chocolate, some of which were made with fresh cream.

The employees were trained especially in Belgium to handle the chocolates and always wore white cloth gloves. You really haven't eaten chocolate until you've eaten these. Trust me on that one.

While these chocolates weren't cheap, they were certainly worth every penny. Now what are we going to do for amazing fine quality hand made gift chocolate in Kuwait?

My favorite pieces were the ones that came with fruit and nuts, the fresh cream ones (of course), and the caramels and nuts.

Oh, please, please tell the chocolate fairy to bring them back!

You can always go and visit them in Belgium.. and they even have an outlet store!!!!!

Address: Postweg 2, 1602 Vlezenbeek, Belgium
Hours: Mon. – Thurs. 9 a.m.-6 p.m. and Friday 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

Or go to their website (but you can't order in Kuwait unfortunately, at least not as of the publishing of this post)

Notice! . if there are any of you out there who would be interested in doing a chocolate tour in Belgium, contact me. We are considering setting one up.

Godiva Chocolate

My first love, when it comes to chocolate was Godiva. When I was a student in college I had a job on the weekends at the Sheraton Inn in Ithaca, NY, and every weekend, the minute I got paid, I would go to this cute little clothing boutique and buy a small box of the most delicious Godiva Chocolate Mousse Truffle (if that is what it was called, and for the life of me I can’t remember) in the shape of a half walnut with a half a walnut on top. The box was $14 back then, and it was worth every penny. I would eat them all by the end of the afternoon and dream about the next week’s stash. It was a pleasure that I went out of my way for, and enjoyed immensely.
It looked similar to the one pictured above, but that's not it!

After contacting Godiva I discovered that this beauty hasn’t been made for years. Naturally I requested, in fact, begged that it be brought back.. we will see what happens.

In the meantime, there are enough chocolate wonders out there to cater to everyone’s special taste buds, right? So, let’s explore them all!
